First Annual Forest Hills 5K a Huge Success

The Forest Hills School District expresses its gratitude to Beth Davis and Jenny Nayak for their phenomenal success in organizing and presenting the First Annual Forest Hills 5K Run/Walk.
 
More than 2,000 people registered to participate in the race. The event also included a family festival with booths hosted by district schools and local community groups and businesses.

The winners of the mascot races were: Bengals Who Dey for the community mascots and the Summit Bee for the school mascots. Summit Elementary School will retain the schools mascots trophy until next year. The traveling trophy was created by Nagel Art Teacher Joe Newton.
 
The Forest Hills 5K was the first major event for the new Forest Hills Foundation for Education (FHFE). The foundation is a non-profit organization which raises funds for programs and activities to enhance the educational opportunities for children in the Forest Hills School District. Mercy Hospital Anderson and Mercy HealthPlex were Presenting Sponsors of the event. Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine was a Gold Sponsor.
