School year hours: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Appointments are recommended.
Summer hours: Tuesday and Thursdays between 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Parents and legal guardians of students register students online and then come to Central Office (7946 Beechmont Ave.) to provide required registration documents.
REQUIRED REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS:
- parent/guardian driver’s license
- official birth certificate
- custody papers (if applicable)
- proof of residence (mortgage deed, rental/lease agreement)
- current immunization records (if applicable)
- ETR/IEP/504 reports/documents (if applicable)
- FOR ALL-DAY KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION ONLY: $75 check for deposit (applied to tuition)

Parents can complete the first step in the registration process by providing student information online. Children must be five-years-old on or before August 1 of the given school year to register for kindergarten.
Once a parent completes the online registration process, they should call Debbie Conover, registrar, at 231-3600 to make an appointment to provide the required documentation. A $75 deposit (check) is also required for all-day kindergarten registration. This deposit will be applied toward the program tuition.
Tuition for the all-day program is $3,000 and will offset the additional operating costs and defer operating costs from taxpayers. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Parents and guardians of students who will be three- to five-years-old on or before Sept. 30, 2018 can apply for a seat in Forest Hills’ preschool program beginning Feb. 19 through Feb. 25.
FHSD uses an online lottery system for acceptance into preschool. For the 2018-19 school year, the lottery drawing will occur on Feb. 26 to award seats in preschool classes. Parents will be notified by email soon after of acceptance into preschool. Once accepted, parents can begin registration procedures. Parents of students who were drawn in the lottery will have one week to complete registration. A $100 deposit is due at the time of registration in the form of check or cash. The deposit is applied toward the tuition cost of $1,800. The balance due can be paid in one payment or in four quarterly payments of $425 each. Payments are made online. An additional academic fee of $40 applies to all students attending Forest Hills. Both payments can be made beginning August 1.
Students who are not drawn in the lottery will be placed on a wait list.
The Hamilton County Educational Service Center operates a Head Start program at Mercer Elementary for children ages three- to five-years old. The morning session operates from 8 a.m-11:30 a.m. and the afternoon session operates from 12:10 p.m.-3:40 p.m. The program is free to families who meet certain income guidelines.
