NExt Activities 2019-2020

Nagel offers a variety of extracurricular activities for students to become involved with outside of school hours. Students can join any club they would like by joining the Schoology group associated with the club*. On the Schoology groups, students will find all information about the club: including changes to meeting dates, activities for the club, and more. Please refer to the list below to see current club offerings.

Art Club

American Sign Language Club

Students work together to learn American Sign Language through sharing knowledge and online tutorials.



Coding Club

Students will work together to learn new ways to incorporate coding using Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Beginners and experienced coders are welcome!



Color Guard Club

Ms. Cori Hedrick

Location: The band room

Starting Friday October 11 and ending when high school guard clinics start in April/May

2nd and 4th Friday of each month,

3:30 - 4:30 pm

Students learn the basics of flag and dance to prepare for joining the colorguard and performing with the Forest Hills Marching Band in high school. Students will learn basic skills and techniques and learn more about high school guard. No experience necessary.



Chess Club

Begins Sept. 17 thru Feb. 25.

First, Third and Fourth Tuesdays,

3:20 - 4:20 pm

Students of all abilities will be able to pair-up and hone their skills in chess by practicing and competing against one another.

NOTE:  While we have a teacher sponsor, we are actively looking for a coach for this group.



Drama Club

Students will participate in multiple performance opportunities throughout the year including Dinner Theater and the annual musical. Join the Schoology group for more information regarding auditions and rehearsal dates.



Dungeons and Dragons Club

Beginning Sept 24th through May 12th

Every other Tuesday from 3:20 - 4:20 pm

If you enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons and would love to join in the fun with friends at Nagel, then this is the club for you. Bring the board game with you!!

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)

The First and third Tuesday of every month,

FCA is a club that provides students with the opportunity to focus on being active and intentional with their faith in an upbeat, energetic environment.  While FCA stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, all students are welcome to be a part of our club.


Gaming Club

A relaxed club where people can come and play video games together.  We sometimes have tournaments, but most of the time it is just playing our favorite games.  An emphasis on video games, but others (board, puzzle, etc.) are welcome!   




German Club

German Club will allow students to learn about, experience, and discuss German culture and language. Great for all students interested in learning about German culture, whether you are currently taking German or not!



The Great Outdoors Club

For kids who love being outdoors doing stuff. Activities may include (but are not limited to): Hiking near the woods, Outdoor games, Creek exploration, Litter pick-ups, Gardening, Landscaping. Why Join?? Cause fresh air, sunshine, and physical activity is perfect after a long day in school.

Students registered with Scouts BSA will meet together to work on earning Merit Badges. 



Ski Club

Students of all levels can purchase a discounted pass for Perfect North Slopes. Busing and cost of rental equipment are extra.  Lessons are provided. Please join Schoology group for information on joining.

Super Smash Brothers Club

Come participate in Super Smash Brothers tournaments throughout the year! Order of play will be based on sign-ups for individual events. Tournaments will be held on Thursdays - see Schoology for specific dates and sign-ups.



Yearbook Staff

Second and Fourth Tuesday of every month, 3:30 - 4:10 pm.

Design, advertise, and sell the Nagel yearbooks. Students must apply and be able to attend meetings regularly (as much as possible) and be committed to producing the yearbook! **Applications due Friday, September 20th

Don’t see something that interests you? Any student can start a new club at Nagel! You will need to find a group of friends interested in the club, as well as a teacher to sponsor your club. Once you have both of these things, tell the teacher to email Ali Schirmer to get your club information added on this list!
