Penny Wars and Shop and Share!
In it's 9th year, 9United's Shop & Share Service Project will be bigger than ever! For the first time, all 9 schools in the district will participate and, in addition to students and families in all Forest Hills schools, the growing list of recipients also includes families from Beech Acres, Inter Parish Ministries and St. Joe's Orphanage. With more than 350 students and families needing assistance this year, this district-wide event needs your support.
Interested donors can make a financial contribution and/or request a wish list to fulfill. Elementary and Nagel students will participate in a donation drive from November 27 - December 5. The entire Forest Hills community is invited to Target (Beechmont Ave.) on December 6 from 4-7:00 pm for holiday fun and wish list shopping, using the financial donations made online and through the school donation drives.
We are very excited to introduce "Penny Wars" to Summit as a way to collect donations for Shop and Share. From November 27 - December 5, students can bring in pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, or more in an effort to encourage them to raise money in creative ways. Pennies count as positive points (put these in the jug for their own grade) and silver coins and dollars count as negative points (put these in the jugs for other grades.) The winning grade will be rewarded with a victory flag, but the flag will move each day based on daily donations.
For more details, to make a financial contribution, or to request a wish list, please visit Shop & Share. Questions about 9United and this project can be directed to the organization's founders, Amy Miller or Jen Schlosser.
Thank you for being a big part of making a big impact and making the holidays a little brighter for those in our community!
