Thie Summit Elementary PTA funds many enrichment programs such as COSI on Wheels, Camp Kern, Zoo visitors, Accelerated Reading program and class field trips. The PTA also provides $5,000 in mini-grants to individual teachers for books and classroom supplies. Activities that showcase students, such as Arts Night and Summit Success Night, also receive support from the PTA.
The annual Walkathon, Summit STRONG, raises over 50% of PTA's budget each year. It takes place at the end of each September on Summit's campus. Year after year, it has been a great way to welcome the new school year and receives wonderful community support.
In 2016, students raised over $37,000 all of which works to enhance the experiences for the students and staff of Summit Elementary.
