Six Turpin High School students will have the opportunity to explore topics in government and share their voices on a statewide level as members of the Ohio Attorney General’s Teen Ambassador Board this school year. Consisting of students from around the state, the program provides high school students an inside look at Ohio law and government with two opportunities to convene in Columbus. They will also be able to attend various presentations in smaller groups to advise the Attorney General’s office on teen-related issues and learn more about various topics in government.

The first meeting in Columbus took place earlier this month, during which Teen Ambassador Board members sat in on a press conference with Attorney General Dave Yost announcing the results of Operation Next Door, a statewide human trafficking crackdown. Students were able to ask the AG questions directly and get a behind-the-scenes look at how press conferences unfold.

The Teen Ambassador Board program gives a firsthand look at how certain facets of government operate while also providing opportunities for training on important and relevant topics, meeting with elected officials and interacting with Assistant Attorneys General.

Congratulations to the following Turpin students who will serve as teen ambassadors:

  • McKenna Eatmon
  • Bodhi Hale
  • Patrick Ladd
  • Lauren Lusher
  • Maya Marathe
  • Norah Zellen

We are very excited that these students will have the opportunity to share their voices at the state level and look forward to hearing about what they gain from this experience.
