Maddux Elementary School Named a 2026 National Gold Star School
Forest Hills School District is proud to share that Maddux Elementary School has been named a 2026 National Gold Star School (NGSS) by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). This award is presented to elementary and middle-level schools that work diligently to foster continuous growth and ensure student success.
NAESP selects schools based on the NGSS program’s three core pillars, which include an established culture, empowered people and optimal systems–all of which are built upon trusted and positive relationships, high expectations for growth, inclusive practices and student and staff well-being.
“It is an honor for Maddux to be selected as a National Gold Star School,” said Maddux Elementary School Principal Joy O’Brien. “This prestigious award is a direct reflection of the dedication, talent and hard work of our teachers and staff, who work tirelessly to uplift and support every student as well as each other.”
Maddux Elementary staff celebrated this achievement during a morning staff meeting in April, during which parents, employees and volunteers spoke about the impact that Maddux staff have on students and the community. The celebrations will continue when the Maddux principals attend NAESP’s National School Leaders Conference in July to be recognized in front of elementary school administrators from across the country. Maddux Elementary will serve as an example to inspire educators nationwide.
