Forest Hills School District is hosting a Community Wellness Fair in conjunction with Parent Academy Night on Monday, March 18. The Wellness Fair runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Nagel Middle School gymnasium and Parent Academy will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Nagel cafetorium. This newly announced event is made possible through a generous grant from Hamilton County Public Health and support from the Forest Hills Foundation for Education.

Please click here to RSVP and register for either or both events!

The FHSD Community Wellness Fair will feature more than 40 local businesses and organizations representing a variety of topics, including fitness, nutrition, medicine, mental health and more. Guests are invited to stop by anytime during the open-house style event, which will include some fun prizes and giveaways. This will be a wonderful opportunity to explore the wealth of resources available in Anderson Township, the Village of Newtown and the surrounding community.

This Parent Academy Night will have a different format from previous events, and it will include one featured speaker: Dr. Bill Daggett, founder of the Successful Practices Network and the International Center for Leadership in Education. Dr. Daggett is recognized worldwide for his efforts to move preK-12 education systems toward more rigorous and relevant skills and knowledge for all students. For 30 years, he has traveled throughout the country, as well as other parts of the world, to lead school reform efforts to effectively prepare students for their future.

Dr. Daggett’s keynote presentation will center on digital wellness, future-focused education and how to prepare students for their future, not the past. The discussion will touch on topics like the impact of COVID-19, youth mental health issues, artificial intelligence and more, while looking at new and emerging strategies to address these challenges and opportunities. Dr. Daggett will provide specific strategies for parents and educators to consider to ensure children are best equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their future.

This will be a great opportunity for parents and guardians to learn the same topics that FHSD teachers, administrators and staff members will be discussing during a district-wide professional development session with Dr. Daggett the following day. The partnership between educators and families is critical in the overall success of students, and the district is fortunate to be able to further strengthen that collaboration through this unique Parent Academy session.

FHSD sincerely thanks Hamilton County Public Health and the Forest Hills Foundation for Education for sponsoring this event! Childcare will be provided to families for the keynote presentation. The registration link below will help the district make any necessary preparations regarding childcare.

Once again, here is the registration link for the FHSD Community Wellness Fair and Parent Academy Night. Please submit your registration by March 12, 2024.
